Yes! Kauffman Guitars!

Steve Kauffman has been making guitars since the 70s. At a Guitar Convention in Boston, Massachusetts, he met Steve Klein and a partnership was established. For close to 40 years, he has been involved with Klein Guitars as well as building his own brand of guitars.

He is now working full time at his shop making both Klein & Kauffman acoustic guitars.

Drawings of Klein Acoustic Harp designs first appeared in American Lutherie in their Summer issue of 1993. The story goes that Michael Hedges and Steve Klein were collaborating on a contemporary version of Dyer Harp Guitars that Michael had been playing live and in studio. Those designs were dropped in favor of the Electric Harp Guitar that Michael used on tours, on the cover of Guitar Player, and in the Taproot CD. Steve Klein is now hard at work to make this instrument a reality!!! Stay tuned…
